This is a wonderful rendition of Tommy Walker’s Thank You For Loving Me. This Filipino gentleman is a bit shy to show his face on camera but he has such incredible voice. He is really anointed and God has blessed him with magnificient gift of playing guitar and singing worship songs. Glory to God! Be inspired. Be blessed. Be expectant.

This songIt Is Well With My Soul has struck my attention today. This is a song of hope. It gives us the message that amidst trouble, sorrow, or pain, we have our Heavenly Father who is for us.That out of these circumstances, God’s goodness still revealed and we can still see hope, peace, and love. Our lives here on Earth is temporal so let us invest more into something that has eternal value.
Reading the history of this hymn, I read that it was penned by a Chicago Lawyer named Horatio Spafford and composed by Philip Bliss. This hymn was written after several traumatic events in Spafford’s life. The first was the death of his only son in 1871 at the age of four, shortly followed by the great Chicago Fire which ruined him financially (he had been a successful lawyer). Then in 1873, he had planned to travel to Europe with his family on the SS Ville du Havre, but sent the family ahead while he was delayed on business concerning zoning problems following the Great Chicago Fire. While crossing the Atlantic, the ship sank rapidly after a collision with a sailing ship, the Loch Earn, and all four of Spafford’s daughters died. His wife Anna survived and sent him the now famous telegram, “Saved alone.” Shortly afterwards, as Spafford traveled to meet his grieving wife, he was inspired to write these words as his ship passed near where his daughters had died. Listening to this song Our God by Chris Tomlin while doing this blog entry created me an atmosphere of peace, stirred faith, and inspired spirit. In life, we are easily hooked up with our daily routines and oftentimes, our quiet time with the Lord is becoming less and less. We don’t spend much time praying. We don’t spend time singing a song of praise or worship. We don’t spend time listening to what God has to say by reading His Word or listening to His still small voice. Oh, how easy easy it is to forget or to procrastinate! But thanks be to God, His mercies never end. They are new every morning.
Chris Tomlin put yet another piece of music that really stirred my Spirit. A huge statement and declaration about our Heavenly Father. As I try to follow and sing every lyrics, the more I feel and believe about the message of this song. You might one to try and experience it for yourself. It’s really true.
“If God is for us, who can be against us?” God is for us not against us. God is on our side. God is not our enemy. No power on earth or heaven can separate us from God’s love. Not our sin, not any authority, not any spiritual force. God’s love is unshakable and can always be relied upon. (cf Romans 8:38-39).
