Bishop T.D. Jakes: Don’t Waste This Year – Coming Out Head First

Bishop T.D. Jakes Don't Waste this YearA timely message from Bishop T.D. Jakes for the New Year! He is emphatic in saying: ” You cannot waste this year!” This is the year of grace. Extended to map things into alignment. To put things in order in your life. A year of destiny.

He is sharing from Mark 2:18-22 where Jesus Is Questioned About Fasting. ” The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting. Then they came and said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?” And Jesus said to them, “Can the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days. 21 No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. 22 And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.” Mark 2:18-22 New King James Version (NKJV)

Bishop T.D. Jakes: Don’t Waste This Year – Coming Out Head First Part 2 of 2

In order for you to get the blessing that God has for you, you have to go beyond expecting God to just give you a magical year and be renewed in the spirit of your mind so that you are prepared to embrace what God has for you and sometimes you have to be prepared to make it happen.” – Bishop TD Jakes Quote

Joy to the World with a Touch of Country Tune Version by Third Day!

If you enjoy variety of music like I do, you will love this version of the popular Christmas carol, Joy to the World, by the Third Day. “This band is a Grammy award-winning Christian rock band formed in Marietta, Georgia during the 1990s. It was founded by lead singer Mac Powell, guitarist Mark Lee and former member Billy Wilkins. The band’s name is a reference to the biblical account of Jesus’ rising from the dead on the third day following his crucifixion. The band was inducted in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame on September 19, 2009. (Source: wikipedia)”

Joy to the World

Joy to the world, the Lord is come
Let earth receive her King
Let every heart prepare Him room
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven and nature sing
And heaven and heaven and nature sing

Joy to the world, the Savior reigns
Let saints, their songs employ
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat the sounding joy
Repeat, repeat the sounding joy

He rules the world with truth and grace
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness
And wonders of His love
And wonders of His love
And wonders, wonders, of His love

Changing Trends of Churches in America

CHANGING AMERICA S CHURCH

Here’s a clip from Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) about the changing trends of churches in the United States of America. It looks on the different cultures such as Hispanics, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans, and other ethnicity.

Researchers report a major trend in church demographics in the U.S. Young Hispanics — raised as Catholics — are joining Evangelical and Pentecostal congregations. It’s a growing movement that will have significant impact on the makeup and mission of churches in America.” – CBN.com

Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4)

Delight yourself also in the LORD,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart

Psalm 37:4

How do we delight ourselves in the Lord?

Perhaps, this is one of the questions we want to ask about this verse.  The late David Wilkerson, one of the well-known preachers that I really admired,  has this to say about delighting ourselves in the Lord:

If you’ve fully resigned yourself into God’s hands, then you’re able to endure any and all hardships. Your Father’s desire is for you to be able to go about your daily business without fear or anxiety, totally trusting in his care. And your resignation to him has a very practical effect in your life. The more resigned you are to God’s care and keeping, the more indifferent you’ll be to the conditions around you.

Delight Yourself in the Lord Psalm 37 v 4
I also found this Bible verses about delighting ourselves in Lord.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.” (Psalm 37:23 NKJV)
“I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart” (Psalm 40:8 NKJV)
Desires of Our Heart

My Bible annotation defines this phrase as: “When the righteous have desires that springs from the Lord, The Lord will surely fulfill those desires.”  Mathew Henry Bible commentary  has this to say: “He has not promised to gratify all the appetites of the body and the humours of the fancy, but to grant all the desires of the heart, all the cravings of the renewed sanctified soul. What is the desire of the heart of a good man? It is this, to know, and love, and live to God, to please him and to be pleased in him.”
