Haiti Miracle: TV Crew Helps Rescue Baby From Rubble

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Psalms 46:1-2)

Watch an Australian television crew helped pull a 16-month-old girl, Winnie Tilin, from the rubble of a house in Haiti on Friday nearly three days after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated the country. Winnie appeared to be healthy after her ordeal.

Is the Haiti Earthquake a Result of the Haitians "Pact with the Devil"?

Pat Robertson’s statement on this video is a very hot trending topic on Twitter. It caught my attention in the light of  the devastating Haiti earthquake. Sometimes we have to ask the hard questions who, why, or what is behind these catastrophic tragedies. But surely, as what the Bible says, the devil only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. If the Haitians did had a pact with the devil in the past, they need to turn to God and healing will come into their land. My thoughts and prayers for the Haitian people. May God’s comfort and mercy flow on every families affected by this tragedy.

Transcript:

PAT ROBERTSON: And, you know, Kristi, something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it. They were under the heel of the French. You know, Napoleon III and whatever. And they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, “We will serve you if you will get us free from the French.” True story. And so, the devil said, “OK, it’s a deal.”
And they kicked the French out. You know, the Haitians revolted and got themselves free. But ever since, they have been cursed by one thing after the other. Desperately poor. That island of Hispaniola is one island. It’s cut down the middle. On the one side is Haiti; on the other side is the Dominican Republic. Dominican Republic is prosperous, healthy, full of resorts, et cetera. Haiti is in desperate poverty. Same island. They need to have and we need to pray for them a great turning to God. And out of this tragedy, I’m optimistic something good may come. But right now, we’re helping the suffering people, and the suffering is unimaginable.

KRISTI WATTS (co-host): Absolutely, Pat.

I welcome your comments on this video.

The Love of God

The Love of God
boundless as infinity
it is unfathomable
Yet its intensity is like thousands of sun
The Love of God
is no respecter of person
an antidote for poisonous pride
Who you are and what you do is immaterial
For you are special in God’s eyes

The Love of God
brings sinners to repentance
sets the captives free
addiction, bondage, and guilt are history
Grace is the language; Forgiveness is eternity

The Love of God
fills our emptiness and inadequacies
it leads us to a life of purpose
a life well-lived, meaningful one
And that starts in a relationship with Jesus Christ

Today is the acceptable day of the Lord
Ask Jesus to come into your life
Surrender your life to Him for He can be trusted
and surely, the love of God will flow in your life abundantly.
I scribbled  this poem while I was sitting in a bench
inside a mall’s playground waiting for my son to finish playing
with other kids.

The Greatest Gift of All by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton

Once upon a ChristmasThis is one of my favourite country Christmas songs. It’s one of a kind sang by two of the greatest country singers, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. They can really tell a story in a song and have the charisma to engage every listener  to keep th music playing. Their message in this song, “Peace on earth goodwill to men is the greatest gift of all.”

Dawn is slowly breaking
Our friends have all gone home
You and I are waiting
For Santa Claus to come
There’s a present by the tree
Stockings on the wall
Knowing you’re in love with me
Is the greatest gift of all

The fire is slowly fading
Chill is in the air
All the gifts are waiting
For children ev’rywhere
Through the window, I can see
Snow begin to fall
Knowing you’re in love with me
Is the greatest gift of all

Just before I go to sleep
I hear a church bell ring
Merry Christmas, ev’ryone
Is the song it sings
So I say a silent prayer
For creatures great and small
Peace on earth, goodwill to man
Is the greatest gift of all

Peace on earth, goodwill to man
Is the greatest gift of all
