New Discovery For Doubting Thomas: The Shroud from Jesus' Era Found, Researchers Say

Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed – Jesus Christ
I am browsing the headlines today and found this very interesting news at CNN World News. Another great piece of discovery. Slowly but surely, historical evidences are  being unearthed proving to us the reality that Jesus Christ had in fact walked into this Earth thousand of years ago. This news article reminds me of the story of Doubting Thomas in John 20:24-29. Thomas, one of Jesus’ apostles, said to the other disciples (who earlier testified that they have seen the risen Lord Jesus): “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.” And it went when Thomas met Jesus in the presence of his fellow diciples. Jesus called on Thomas and said “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.” And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus replied, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
Now, my question to you. Are you a “doubting Thomas”?
Shroud from Jesus’ era found, researchers say

Jerusalem (CNN) — Researchers said Wednesday for the first time they have found what they believe to be pieces of a burial shroud from the time of Jesus.
The find is of importance because tests on the shroud and the body it wrapped revealed the earliest proven case of leprosy in the Old City of Jerusalem.
And in addition, the weave of the shroud raises fresh doubts about the Shroud of Turin, which many people believe was used to wrap the body of Jesus.
According to researchers involved in the excavation and subsequent testing, the recently discovered shroud lends more credible evidence that the Shroud of Turin does not date to Roman times when Jesus died but from a later period.
The latest shroud was found in a tomb complex on the edge of the Old City of Jerusalem.
“This is the first time that we have a shroud from the time of Jesus,” said Shimon Gibson, the excavation director.
He called such a find in the Jerusalem area unique because the high humidity levels in the city do not normally allow for the preservation of organic material. Read full story here

Australian Idol Winner Stan Walker Sings and Tells His Amazing Grace

Stan Walker Amazing GraceI started using the gift God gave me – Stan Walker

I am not really a big fan of Australian Idol but that changed when I saw the journey of this young man named Stan Walker. Rarely in primetime reality show can we see highlights of a passion for christianity.  Stan Walker proved that his christian beliefs and his honest, real, and powerful life testimony made the difference for him to win the hearts of many Australians. It is truly amazing to hear Stan Walker sing. He engages audience with his soulful voice. He sings from the depths of his heart making every song he sings sounds to be his very own. His spirit flows in every note.
His performance of this famous hymn, Amazing Grace, is perhaps one of his best. Giving glory to God towards the end of his song is the most gallant and the most precious act he has done on a national television.

Idol’s Stan Walker: My childhood was like Once Were Warriors
Each time Australian Idol front-runner Stan Walker walks on stage to sing, the teen can’t help but marvel at the latest chapter of his life.
The Kiwi lad, who’s tipped to win the trans-Tasman singing competition, may be only 19, but already his story could be the script of a Hollywood film – one that strongly resembles the plot of Once Were Warriors. Like the Hekes, Stan’s childhood was filled with violence, alcohol and poverty.
‘My dad was an abusive man. He beat my mum and he beat us,’ reveals Stan, who grew up in Mt Maunganui and now lives in Coolangatta, Australia. ‘My parents were druggies, they drank a lot and had parties. I had no father figure.’ Read full story here

Atheist Group To Run 'No God' Slogan on New Zealand Buses

Would you ride a bus painted with a slogan  that says “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life?”

An atheist group in New Zealand is now busy raising funds and defending plans to raise $10,000 to run a controversial slogan on the side of New Zealand buses. The latest news says that they doubled their target to $20,000.00 after they have reached their earlier target. They launch their campaign in a prime time TV interview program and now sparks a great debate in New Zealand. Chief atheist campaigner Simon Fisher said ithat they would pay for advertisements on 12 buses in Auckland, eight in Wellington and four in Christchurch, each staying on the buses for four weeks.

“Atheism is so senseless.” Sir Isaac Newton

Like Christians who are passionate about spreading the Good News, atheists on the other hand are even more passionate trying to prove something that defies the truth. But unfortunately, it becoming more evident that atheists are beginning to doubt their belief  as shown by their slogan.  They used the term “probably” instead of campaigning upfront  that  there is “no God”.  It only shows that it is impossible for them to prove the non-existence of God who created everything, atheists included.
Unknown to atheists, unless they are secretly reading the Bible, christians have a proven cure for “worry.” Philippians 4:6 says “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” Jesus also said “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” Enjoying life is not an issue for a true christian.
I guess this campaign does more good for christians. It is God-focussed. More and more people, not only New Zealanders, will be puzzled and would try their best to seek God. So, to my atheist friends, bring it on and let the campaign begin! God will surely smile and probably will say, “at least you’ve tried.”
P.S. what about if atheist will go door knocking like the Jehovah’s witness and Mormons? The scenario would something like this.
Enjoy the ride!

An interview with a Taliban Trained Suicide Bomber

For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”(Romans 13:9)

What’s in the mind of a suicide bomber? What are his motives? Why is he willing to blow up himself into pieces without taking into consideration of the lives of his innocent victims? You will be amazed or even be shocked to listen to what this suicide bomber has to say.
In this interview, the bomber at one point was asked if he wants to get married. He shakes his head and said “no” and goes on to says “Seventy virgins are waiting for me in heaven — so why should I prefer only one here?”! He also keeps on saying “god willing” and it blows my mind on what kind of god he is referring to. What kind of heaven would there be where polygamy is allowed? If that’s the case then many men around the world would then be saying “sign me up!” “Yes, I’m raising my right hands up to become a suicide bomber!” Lo and behold, they will be lusting in eternity.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ is totally the opposite. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves and heaven is place where there is no sin, no suffering, and no hatred.

CBS's Frosty The Inappropriate Snowman a Disgrace

What would you do if you’ve got an RSS feed headline that says CBS’s ‘Frosty the Inappropriate Snowman’ Ad Riles Critics? I’m subscribed to FoxNews. The story says “A video advertisement on CBS’s Web site that “mashes” material from the iconic “Frosty the Snowman” Christmastime cartoon with two of the network’s comedy series is offensive and should be pulled, media analysts told FoxNews.com.”

Why is it offensive? I watched the clip and  apparently Frosty is talking about his “porn collection” while surrounded by crowds of smiling minors. Also, it has also filthy conversations about a strip club and boobs. Clearly, a publicity stunt. The cartoon is a voiceover from two of its dirty-minded sitcom characters played by Neil Patrick Harris and Charlie Sheen.

What on earth is going on? Will it bring good to our children? Do you want this to be viewed by millions of people around the world? Anyway, all I can say is this: “A man reaps what he sows.”

See for yourself. WARNING: Don’t let your kids watch this.
