“When a man undergoes treatment from a doctor, he does not need to know the way in which the drug works on his body in order to be cured. There is a sense in which Christianity is like that. At the heart of Christianity there is a mystery, but it is not the mystery of intellectual appreciation; it, the mystery of redemption.”- William Barkley
Because of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, His blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in Him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.
It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone.
It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life. (Ref Ephesians1: 7-14 The Message)
As you watch this Hillsong video entitled “This is Our God“, my prayer is for you to be touched by God personally. Just keep your heart and mind open, have a quiet moment, and lift up your spirit and let God communicate with you.

This is a very beautiful rendition of the popular hymn “In Christ Alone.” Keith and Kristyn Getty along with the band (drummer David Zimmer, bass & BVs Justin Hartman, guitarist Jordan Davis), along with the orchestra from Shadow Mountain Church in San Diego, leading “In Christ Alone”.
In Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song;
firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
when fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My Comforter, my All in All,
here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone! who took on flesh
Fulness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones he came to save:
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied –
For every sin on Him was laid;
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain:
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave he rose again!
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me,
For I am His and He is mine –
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life, no fear in death,
This is the power of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath.
Jesus commands my destiny.
No power of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home,
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand.

This young and talented breed of christian artists are from my former Church, Life, in Auckland, New Zealand. They are the “next gen” of the original Parachute Band that birthed in 1996.
One of their major events is the Annual Parachute Festival usually held in Mystery Creek, Hamilton, New Zealand where they perform in the Mainstage leading thousands of crowd of mostly young generation into the presence of God with their locally written worship music.
This worship song “Glorified” is simply one of their outstanding compositions. I really love this song because of its great message of giving glory to Jesus Christ who done everything for us to have peace with our Almighty Father in heaven.
Glorified – Parachute Band
Glorified Parachute Band
Lord I come into your Holy place.
Stand in awe, of your cleansing grace. Who am I, that you would care for me? I glorified the one who died for me.
Chorus:
Glorify, glorify Let your name be lifted up and glorified Let the earth tremble at your name Let your name be lifted up and glorified
Verse 2: Into your hands, I commit my life Day by day as a living sacrifice Who am I that you would care for me? I glorify the one who died for me
You are stronger, Sin is broken, You have saved me It is written, Christ is risen, Jesus You are Lord of all
As I was listening to this song, I remember a Bible verse that I often hear when I was still a new Christian. I heard several preachers spoke about this verse and it echoed as soon as I hear this song from Hillsong Live entitled Stronger. It’s actually a declaration. A prayer of faith in times of troubles, trials, and difficult times. This verse is found in Psalm 28 the 7th verse and it says: “The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him.”
Indeed it’s a powerful worship song. It’s beautiful chorus declares: “You are stronger! You are stronger! Sin is broken You have saved me ; It is written Christ is risen; Jesus You are Lord of all!”
David Crowder Band’s How He Loves Us is a very inspiring song. I love that part of the song that says: “We are His portion and He is our prize; Drawn to redemption by the grace in His eyes. If grace is an ocean, we’re all sinking; So Heaven meets earth like an unforeseen kiss.” Yes, Jesus is our prized possession. He is our Hope. Jesus is fully God but He chose to become a man in our likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross! How great is His love for you and me despite of who we are; despite of what mistakes we have made; and despite what circumstances we are facing. Jesus is the Gospel. He is the Good News that our world needs today. Invite and accept Jesus into our lives and build that trust in Him for He gives meaning for our world today and a hope for our future. What would life be without Jesus?
“Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Phil 2:9-11)
