This beautiful gospel song brings back so many wonderful memories and reminds me of the incredible blessing that was Vestal Goodman’s voice and ministry. She was truly one of the greatest female gospel singers of her generation, and there was something deeply special and heartfelt about the way she sang. Her music was never just about vocal ability—it carried sincerity, passion, and a spirit that touched people in a powerful way. Listening to her sing always had a way of reaching beyond the melody and speaking directly to the soul, bringing comfort, joy, and a reminder of God’s goodness.

Her rendition of “What A Lovely Name” in this Bill & Gloria Gaither Homecoming Concert is such a beautiful testimony to the remarkable gift she was given and the incredible presence she brought whenever she stood before an audience. “You’ll Never Walk Alone” – An Amazing David Phelps’ Version

Be blessed by this amazing version of of David Phelps of the iconic song “You’ll Never Walk Alone.”This song is also sung at association football clubs around the world, where it is performed by a massed chorus of supporters on match day. This tradition developed at Liverpool F.C. after the chart success of the 1963 single of the song by the local Liverpool group Gerry and the Pacemakers. Elvis Presley has also included this song in one of his gospel albums.

About David Phelps

David Phelps is a singer, songwriter, and keyboardist known in the Christian music sphere as a popular solo artist and as a tenor for the Gaither Vocal Band (1998-2005, 2009-2017). Raised in Tomball, Texas. As a member of the Gaither Vocal Band, David has received Dove Awards, Grammy Awards, and multiple platinum-selling projects. As a soloist, he received 2009 Dove Award nominations for Male Vocalist of the Year and Long Form Video for the Christmas DVD, O Holy Night to add to his many awards and honors. His 2012 live concert DVD, David Phelps: Classic, has received acclaim from across gospel music and beyond, and has been featured on numerous television networks, including PBS. While studying music at Baylor, David met Lori Purtle, who has been his wife and rock-solid partner in his career for more than two decades.
