This beautiful song was written by Dottie Rambo. According to a St. Augustine newspaper article about the song, Dottie had just gone through a difficult time with a friend who had disappointed her. She decided to walk along the beach to clear her mind. “All of a sudden I thought, ‘Lord, this storm is so much like my life, and yet, in the midst of the storms of life, you have been a shelter to me. When I can’t take the storm, I run to you for that shelter and, suddenly, I feel secure.’” While pondering these thoughts she began to write Sheltered in the Arms of God.

This is a beautiful hymn that I want to listen to again and again. “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” is a Christian hymn written by the 18th century pastor and hymnist Robert Robinson. Robert Robinson penned the words at age 22 in the year 1757. Watch this beautiful rendition of this song by gospel artist Buddy Green.

About Buddy Greene

Buddy Greene has been performing for audiences since the tender age of ten, but his first big break came when, as a young man, he landed a position in country superstar Jerry Reed’s band. As rhythm guitarist, singer, and harmonicist, Buddy’s four year stint with Reed proved to be the ideal apprenticeship that included appearing on numerous TV shows and recordings as well as touring extensively throughout the country.
