Do You Desire God? – Paul Washer

“Let me ask you a question, “Do You Have A Passion For God?”“Do You Desire Him?” “Do You Long For Him?” Yes, we all go through times in which our hearts are dull. Yes, we go through times when we need to be encouraged. Yes, we all go through times when our eyes are mesmerized by things they should not be. Yes, we all struggle in that but if someone would look at your life would they say, “This person has a passion, not for ministry, not for missions, not for evangelism, but for God.” The sign of a genuine work of God in the heart is that you began to hate the sin you once loved and to love the righteousness you once ignored.” – Paul Washer

Search Me O God!

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” – Psalm 139:23-24 KJV

Christian life is not about playing it safe. It’s about living life on the edge. It’s about taking a leap of faith even when there’s no safety net in place. “Search Me O God,” is one of the most daring prayer that we can pray to the LORD. We must be prepared to be examined up to the deepest core and chambers of our heart so that God will expose it to us for any sin or iniquity. We cannot do this if we are self-righteous, self-exalting, and self-glorifying like the pharisees. There is nothing hidden in the eyes of God but we must be humble to ask Him and confess to Him our weaknesses, our guilt, or our shame. God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let us be willing to admit and turn from our sins. Repent and be saved.

Search Me O God – The Cathedrals

Search me, O God, and know my heart today,
Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts, I pray;
See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free.(Search me, O God, and know my heart today,
Try me, O Savior, know my thoughts, I pray;
Listen; See if there be some wicked way in me;
Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free.)Lord, take my life, and make it wholly Thine;
Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine;
Take all my will, my passion, self and pride;
I now surrender, Lord, in me abide.I now surrender, Lord, in me abide. (Abide)

Bible References: 1 Samuel 30: 1- 6:

“And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire;

2And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.

3So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.

4Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

5And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.

6And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
