“When God Ran” – Powerful Gospel Song of Phillips, Craig & Dean

Have you heard about the prodigal son in the Parable of the Lost Son?  If not, go straight to Luke 15:11-31 and read it word for word. This is the only instance when God the Father ran! Oh, what a beautiful picture! What a happy ending to an otherwise miserable, hopeless, and depressed life. The love of our Father is indeed unfathomable.

So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him. – Luke 15:20 New Living Translation (NLT)

When God Ran Lyrics

Phillips, Craig And Dean

Almighty God, the great I am
Immovable rock, omnipotent, powerful, awesome Lord
Victorious warrior, commanding King of Kings
Mighty conqueror, and the only time
the only time I ever saw Him run

CHORUS:
Was when He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said “My son’s come home again”
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said,
“Son do you know I still love you?”
He caught me by surprise when God ran

The day I left home I knew I’d broken His heart
And I wondered then if things could ever be the same
Then one night I remembered His love for me
And down that dusty road ahead I could see
It was the only time – it was the only time I ever saw Him run

And then He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said “My son’s come home again”
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said,
“Son do you know I still love you?”
He caught me by surprise as He brought me to my knees
When God ran – I saw Him run to me

BRIDGE:
I was so ashamed, all alone and so far away
But now I know He’s been waiting for this day

I saw Him run to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said “My son’s come home again”
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice I felt His love for me again

He ran to me, He took me in His arms
Held my head to His chest, said “My son’s come home again”
Lifted my face, wiped the tears from my eyes
With forgiveness in His voice He said, “Son”, He called me Son
He said, “Son do you know I still love you?”
He ran to me and then I ran to Him
When God ran

Carrie Underwood sings How Great Thou Art

I truly believe God gave my voice. God bestowed upon everybody certain talents and I think at some point in our lives we got the chance to use that. – Carrie Underwood

What is truly amazing about Carrie Underwood is the fact that despite gaining high accolades after winning the American Idol Season 4 and various Country Music Awards, she kept her humility and her christian values giving glory and honor to God.  In this song How Great Thou Art, which is one my favourite hymns you will note that she stand and performed for the glory of God. The audience are just secondary. It could have been different if she sang it inside her church. You can see her emotions and feel her spirit as soon as she finished singing this song. Carrie Underwood is simply one of the best in the world. As a christian, Carrie proved and lived up the scripture in Proverbs 22:6  which says: “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

Carrie Underwood How Great Thou Art

Carrie Underwood was born on March 10, 1983, Muskogee, Oklahoma, U.S.A.. She is an American country music performer who rose to stardom when she won the American Idol in 2005. She received the top prize of a recording contract with 19 Recordings/Arista Records, and the resulting album, Some Hearts (2005), was a massive commercial hit, eventually selling more than seven million copies and cementing Underwood’s status as one of American Idol’s most successful alumni. In 2007 she won Grammy Awards for best new artist and best female country vocal performance. Carrie returned to American Idol in 2007, performing a cover of the Pretenders’ “I’ll Stand by You.” Made available as a single on Apple’s iTunes service, the song was downloaded more than 300,000 times and became the first digital-only release to crack the top 10 of the Billboard singles chart. At the 2007 Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, Underwood claimed single-of-the-year honours for the feisty revenge song “Before He Cheats.” Her second album, Carnival Ride (2007), sold more than half a million copies in its first week of release, and in early 2008 she was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

How Great Thou Art
Carrie Underwood

O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul,
My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods,
and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: “My God, how great Thou art!”

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS Lyrics

WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS
WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS
BRING ALL YOUR TROUBLES
TAKE OFF YOUR HEAVY SHOES
TIRED OF THE HUSTLE
LET IT WASH AWAY YOUR BLUES

WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS
WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS
WADE IN THE WATER
STEP OFF THE DUSTY GROUND
IF IT GETS HOTTER
YOU CAN COOL YOUR SPIRIT DOWN

FLOW FROM HEAVEN
FLOW DOWN OVER ME

WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS
WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS
WHERE THERE IS HEALING
FOR EVERY WOUNDED SOUL
LOST IN THE FEELING
LET THE MIGHTY RIVER ROLL

FLOW FROM HEAVEN
FLOW DOWN OVER ME

WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS
WHERE, WHERE, WHERE, WHERE (cascade) THE RIVER FLOWS
WHERE, WHERE, WHERE, WHERE (cascade) THE RIVER FLOWS
WHERE THE RIVER FLOWS

I’ll Fly Away – John Denver & Friends Classic Song

This is a beautiful version of the classic hymn I’ll Fly Away by famous singers that included John Denver, Johnny Cash, Roger Miller, Mary Kay Place, and Glenn Campbell. This was recorded in the ABC television special “Thank God I’m a Country Boy” on March 22, 1977. Enjoy a this performance!

I’LL FLY AWAY LYRICS
Some glad morning when this life is o’er,
I’ll fly away;
To a home on God’s celestial shore,
I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away).

Chorus
I’ll fly away, Oh Glory
I’ll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away).

When the shadows of this life have gone,
I’ll fly away;
Like a bird from prison bars has flown,
I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away)

Just a few more weary days and then,
I’ll fly away;
To a land where joy shall never end,
I’ll fly away (I’ll fly away)
