Written by Cindy Walker, this gospel song “Child of the King” is a powerful declaration of every follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible says in John 1: 12-14: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” Gaither sang it beautifully. Be blessed.
“The Gaither Vocal Band is an American southern gospel vocal group, named after its founder and leader Bill Gaither. Founded in the early ’80s, Gaither Vocal Band is one of America’s leading faith-based vocal groups. While Gaither remained the only original member of the ensemble, many well-regarded CCM/gospel singers have passed through the band’s ranks, including Russ Taff, Guy Penrod, Wes Hampton, Michael English, Mark Lowry, and David Phelps. On March 1, 2017, it was announced that the Gaither Vocal Band lineup consisted of Reggie Smith, Wes Hampton, Adam Crabb, Todd Suttles, and Bill Gaither. Although the group started out recording contemporary Christian music in the 1980s, it became known for southern gospel after the popularity of the Gaither Homecoming videos.” (Source: Wikipedia)
Once I was clothed in the rags of my sin Wretched and poor Lost and lonely within But with wondrous compassion The King of all kings In pity and love Took me under his wings
Oh yes, oh yes I’m a child of the King His royal blood Now flows in my veins And I, who was wretched and poor, now can sing Praise God, Praise God I’m a child of the King
Now I’m a child With a heavenly home My holy father Well, He make me his own And I am washed by his blood And I’m clothed in his love And someday I’ll sing With the angels above
Oh yes, oh yes I’m a child of the King His royal blood Now flows in my veins And I, who was wretched and poor, now can sing Praise God, Praise God I’m a child of the King Praise God, Praise God I’m a child of the King

The sun will not beat down on them,’nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; ‘he will lead them to springs of living water.’‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’ ”

“His Eyes On the Sparrow” The theme of the song is inspired by the words of David in the Psalms and Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew in the Bible: “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye” (Psalm 32:8). “Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” (Matthew 6:26) and “Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29–31). Be blessed by Michael English, Lillie Knauls, Jessy Dixon, and Larnelle Harris as they communicate this message in a beautiful song.

Why should I feel discouraged, Why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, And long for heaven, heaven and home, When, when Jesus is my portion, My constant Friend is He; Oh, oh-oh, his eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watched, watched it over me.
I sing because I’m happy (happy) I sing because I’m free (free free free) For His eye, his eye is on the sparrow, And I know, I know He watches over me.
