Yvonne Rivadeneyra: A Former Hooker Comes Home

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Come home, come home, come home,
Ye who are weary come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling us,
Calling, O sinner, come home!
(Softly and Tenderly lyrics)

Yvonne Rivadeneyra never planned on becoming a prostitute but a cycle of abuse forced her down a path of self destruction. (source. CBN.com)

    Thank you Yvonne for sharing your life before Christ with others. Our lives are similar in many ways. I am struggling right now with my addiction. I’ve turned my life over to the will of God and I pray for his Power/Victory and Freedom from Meth. I keep relapsing. The more closer I get to God and with every relapse, I’m stricken with tremendous guilt for letting God down again. I’m beginning to believe I’m just to good at being bad. I feel I’m not good enough to be saved by God because Im trying to know, love and serve HIM and PRAY for his help. But Im still weak to my addiction. Listening to your testimony brings me hope this day. I woke up crying and looking for some hope. May God continue to bless you Yvonne. I will always include you in my prayers.

      Hi Michelle, thank you for sharing your story. You are on the right track. Put Christ as center of your life. The Bible says in Galatians 5:1: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” That includes addiction. Continue to meditate on God’s word. Talk to your pastor or an elder of your church and have you prayed over. Surround yourself with people of faith. Be strong in the Lord.
